Previously, there were rumours of GOT7 members leaving JYP Entertainment made by multiple news outlets, but JYP Entertainment had responded that they were still in discussions and confirming details.
However, JYP Entertainment has released a statement today sharing that GOT7 members will be departing from JYP Entertainment following their contract expirations on January 19th.
Below is the complete notice:
Hello this is JYP Entertainment.
Following thorough and in-depth discussions with GOT7 members, GOT7 will conclude their contracts with JYP Entertainment as of January 19th.
The decision was made following an agreement by both sides not to renew their contracts.
GOT7 made their debut on January 16th, 2014, and has since been an active global idol K-Pop group for the last 7 years.
We thank GOT7 and IGOT7 for their support over the many years since GOT7's debut, and continuously supporting them through all their activities in K-Pop.
Even though we have concluded our contracts with GOT7, JYP Entertainment will continue to support the members of GOT7's future endeavours.
